Just found out that my book is available for pre-order on Amazon.
Feeling kinda weird right now ... I mean, I knew this day was coming, but to see it out there after all the work we did is very, very rewarding. It certainly adds a new dimension to my egosurfing.

Congrats Pat! Way to go!
Not sure how I stumbled on your blog....anyway. My 11 year old daughter swims for a local swim team here and its never to early to start thinking about college....and scholorships....I assume you wrote/co-wrote this book??
Hey Gini -- yes indeed, I am one of three co-authors of the recruiting guide. And you're right, it's never too early to start planning for college and looking for scholarships.
The book will be out in late May and I'm hoping to finagle a signing at a local bookstore or perhaps at some youth sporting events. The section I wrote consists of lengthy interviews with recently retired college coaches from a number of sports. I didn't talk to a swimming coach, but at least half of the comments from all of the coaches deal with the recruiting process across the board, not just specific to their sports, so any student-athlete will find something relevant in each interview.
The rest of the book covers all kinds of topics ranging from scholarships to academics to social development to gender issues to health issues. I think it'll be an extremely useful guide and hope you get your hands on a copy!
Thanks for checking in -- come back any time.
PD
