I was going to write a post about the unfairness of a world where Rush Limbaugh lives and Tim Russert dies ... then I read this:
George Carlin, dead at 71
And the seven words you can't say on TV just flew out of my mouth in rapid succession.

Did you watch the very first SNL they played on Saturday, with Carlin as host? It was fascinating. The format was different, some jokes stand the test of time, others don't. But I was struck by two things about Carlin. He was the original Jerry Seinfeld "did you ever notice?" comedian. And some of his material, particularly on religious zealotry, is actually more risque TODAY than it would have been in 1975.
Yeah Conk, that says a lot about our society, doesn't it? Kind of a sad statement on how far we (haven't) come.
